The following day, I had to tell a patient that after several years of trying to conceive, she was finally pregnant. However, on my second day of my OB rotation, I had to inform a patient who only spoke Spanish that she had lost a baby. To be honest, OB/GYN was at the very bottom of my list before starting my rotations. Then, I spent a year doing research in HIV back at UAB followed by med school at LMU-DCOM. ![]() I got my biology degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham followed by my masters in biomedical sciences at Lincoln Memorial University. I was born and raised in Ecuador and also lived in Panama for a few years before coming to the USA for college and medical school.
